Our African themed tea party, on the 18th June, was a phenomenal success!! WE ARE SO PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE NOW RAISED £1,500, to be split between our MU African fund, Potters Village and our own All Saints church! (..thanks to more donations last Sunday!)
It truly was a special afternoon, that brought so much joy to the 75+ guests; ages ranging from the very youngest “Wednesday Mum” baby (8 months) to a couple of lovely ladies in their nineties! It was also wonderful to showcase the amazing work MU does in this great continent. We transformed our Cornerstone halls, to a space filled with African art and artefacts, starting with an amazing African flower display (thanks to Sue Hedley) to greet everyone as they entered. We enjoyed freshly baked scones and strawberries, we had a toast to our MU new Patron HRH Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh and also a toast to our All Saints’ MU branch being 135 years old!
Thank you again to everyone who donated, bought a raffle ticket, helped to set up, helped tidy up and those in the kitchen – everyone who joined in to make this event such a success! 🙏
