Rector – The Reverend Canon David Hodgson
Originally from West Yorkshire, David came to Wokingham with his family in 1997, after working as both industrial chaplain to Harlow and parish priest of 2 Essex villages. He and his wife Lorraine have also lived and worked in East Africa. David wants to see All Saints Church grow as a place where everyone continues to feel welcome.
Associate Priest – The Reverend Hannah Higginson
(Currently on Maternity Leave)
The Reverend Hannah Higginson joined All Saints as Associate Priest in October 2018. Hannah had been Assistant Curate in the Parish of Finchampstead and California following her ordination in July 2014. Originally from Crowthorne, Hannah trained for ordination in Oxford for two years, having done a theology degree at Cardiff University prior to that. Hannah is married to Matt and they have a baby daughter Elizabeth Grace. Hannah enjoys board games, films, football and Strictly Come Dancing but mostly spending time with her family. Hannah’s role at All Saints will be focused mainly on work with families and in new communities.
Assistant Curate -The Reverend Becky Medlicott
Becky grew up in South Africa. She moved to the UK in 2001 where she was a youth pastor in London for 6 years before marrying her husband Andy and moving to Bracknell. Becky worked as a youth worker and in local secondary schools in the Bracknell area. After the birth of Emma, Becky set up her own business as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. She has a passion for encouraging healthy living and embracing all that God has created us to be. Becky enjoys exercising and being outdoors in nature, she enjoys turning her hand to craft activities and loves a good coffee and a chat.
Honorary Priest – The Reverend Colin James
Colin came to All Saints in 1966, becoming a Reader three years later. After early retirement as an education officer with the County Council, he trained further and became a Priest. He is particularly interested in developing a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.
Authorised Lay Preacher – John Boylan
John is the Authorised Lay Preacher at All Saints. He is a PCC member , on the Steering Group of our parish’s engagement in Partnership for Missional Church, and amongst other roles also sings in the Church Choir.
Ordinand -in -training – Chrispen Gumbs
Chrispen has joined us from the Caribbean island of Anguilla whilst he trains for the priesthood at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. As an ordinand, he is placed with our parish as the home church community for himself and his family. He offers a preaching, teaching, and pastoral role as a member of our ministry team. Prior to selection for theological training Chrispen served as a police officer on the island.
Parish Safeguarding Co-ordinator – Tom Lochhead
Tom Lochhead is one of our two Parish Safeguarding Co-ordinators. Tom brings to the role his considerable gifts of discernment, as well as his skill and experience from his professional life in social work.
Anna is our newer Parish Safeguarding Officer and Children’s Advocate. She helps with the X-plore, our Youth Church group, and has experience working with young people from her professional role in university.
Parish Administrator – Jane Hodgson
Jane grew up in the local area and now lives with her husband and two daughters in Ascot. She and her family attend St Mary’s Church in Winkfield, where Jane is on the Messy Church Team, which has recently transformed into ‘Crafty Church’, in order to adhere to the social distancing rules. Jane is also a member of the Flower Arranging Team, following a workshop she took part in a number of years ago – a keen amateur!
Cornerstone Administrator – Amanda Lambourne
Director of Music – Mr Richard Smith BMus(hons), ARCM, ARCO(dipChD), LTCL
Richard has been Director of Music at All Saints Church since 2012. He took his undergraduate studies in organ and harpsichord at Birmingham University and Birmingham Conservatoire and his postgraduate studies in Munich and Bremen. He has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships, including the RCO’s John Brook Prize for Choral Conducting. Alongside a busy freelance career as a conductor he was the Director of a cathedral-based choral education programme, the Liturgical Music Courses, from 2007 until 2013 and the artistic director of the Wokingham Concerts project from 2011 until 2016.
