Things are changing – some of the leaves are beginning to change colour, there are conkers appearing, and the mornings are a little chillier. We will be reflecting on this theme of change in our Wild Worship this Sunday afternoon as we meet out in the churchyard at 4pm and look around us at the changing seasons. It is something that I took particular notice of yesterday on our parish quiet day, as I sat in the churchyard at Sonning Church and noticed the leaves that had already been blown off the trees. The day was led by Revd Christine Allsopp and we reflected on times of change: looking back, being present in the moment and looking forward. It was a beautiful setting with lovely weather and was very peaceful – a chance for us all to be still, pray, reflect.

During October, the PCC will be working hard to glean the views of those across our church and community, as we prepare our parish profile and work out what we are looking for in a new Rector. Do begin to reflect on what it is that you value about All Saints, what you would like to see more of, what you would look for in a new Rector, etc.
Yesterday Christine shared this poem by R. S. Thomas as we reflect on the waiting that comes at these transition moments –
