Vision

 This spacious church building has been turned into an accessible and flexible community meeting space, an inspiring venue for cultural and educational events, and a centre for discovering our local heritage, whilst retaining its role as a place of worship.

By creating this large accessible space with café facilities, being used by the community for all kinds of meetings and events, open every day, the vision for is to see:

IMPROVED WELL-BEING IN OUR COMMUNITY

  • people coming together for mutual support
  • increases in people’s well-being
  • loneliness and isolation for people being reduced
  • easy access to support from local statutory and voluntary services and groups

A MORE CONNECTED COMMUNITY

  • connections being made between people and groups across the community
  • local community groups and activities able to reach out more
  • easier access to learning and personal development opportunities in the community
  • community groups working together and with the church community

AN  INSPIRING VENUE FOR ARTS, CULTURE AND CONFERENCES

  • people engaging with the arts and culture in an inspiring local venue
  • day conferences and conventions making use of the space including access to additional spaces in The Cornerstone and enjoying access to 4 acres of green space in the churchyard

MORE PEOPLE ENJOYING LOCAL HERITAGE AND NATURE

  • the historic fabric of the building restored and maintained
  • people engaging with the heritage of the building and Wokingham’s local history
  • more people finding enjoyment in maintaining and sustaining the biodiversity of the churchyard
