Remembrance

It was wonderful to once again host the town’s civic service for Remembrance at All Saints. We welcomed over 400 people into a very full church including representatives from many different organisations across the community. The service was led by the Revd Hannah Higginson with contributions from ministers from other churches in the town including Revd Savannah Bell from the Baptist Church who led the prayers, and Revd Catherine Bowstead from the Methodist Church who spoke about Edith Cavell in her address. For the first time the service including the laying of wreaths from many different groups in the community, something that usually takes place in the town hall.
