Rector’s message 6th May 2022

The impact of Russia’s war on Ukraine started to feel more even more real to us last Sunday.  We met  some of the Ukrainian families  who have been welcomed to Wokingham, with their hosts, at a tea party in The Cornerstone last Sunday. This was a Churches Together in Wokingham event organised by Reverend Becky Medlicott, with support from the Wokingham Borough Council team who are working with Ukrainian refugees. Members of All Saints Church helped serve refreshments and a big thank you to all those who contributed cakes and biscuits. There’s a full report in this week’s Wokingham Today paper here

Another first time event for us took place at the Wokingham May Fayre when All Saints Church joined up with St Paul’s Church to  run a stall at the Fayre. The stall was promoting church weddings and also the spaceforall project. It was good to share this event with our friends from St Paul’s who are being so helpful to us whilst our church building is closed temporarily, letting us borrow it for christenings, weddings and funerals. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. It was lovely to meet new people and catch up with those whom we hadn’t  seen for a while because of all the disruption to our lives over the last two years.
