All Saints Church’s plans to make its church building more accessible and flexible to benefit the wider community, the Community Church 2020 project, have been approved by Wokingham Borough Council. The element of the plans which require approval by the Council include the creation of a new level access door on the north side of the building, the building of a new single storey parish room with links to the church, and to the Cornerstone by a covered walkway; and the resurfacing of the cobbled path to the main entrance.
Rector Canon David Hodgson; “I’m delighted that the Council has supported these improvements to the church because they will make the building more inclusive and accessible for all. Wokingham is a growing community with developing social and spiritual needs. Our revitalised building will provide spaces which are flexible with modern facilities, more hospitable generally,, and so able to accommodate a much wider range of activities, both for worship and other uses to benefit the community. I’d like to thank all members of the community who have supported these plans to date. We invite everyone who is interested and can offer help in any way, to get involved and work with us to turn these plans now into reality.”
