Our Churchyard

Churchyard

This Saturday we have a working party in the churchyard to cut back some of the meadow area of the churchyard which has been fantastic for encouraging bees, butterflies and whole host of other species, but as we enter August is now coming to the end of its life and needs a tidy up! I really encourage you to consider if you could spare an hour or two this Saturday to help with the work, bring a cordless strimmer if you have one! And come along to meet some others, have a chat and to also hear a bit more about our precious churchyard and its upkeep from churchyard steward John Smith.

The churchyard is a third of what we have to offer at All Saints, alongside the facilities of The Cornerstone and the Church, and yet it sometime feels like many of us fail to appreciate it and contribute to its care and upkeep.  As an Eco Church we are keen to continue to explore how we can best maintain this space as a haven for wildlife, how we can utilise it in our worship, and how we can care for it as a precious holy and prayerful space for and within our community.
