Lent pledge 2023

This Lent we are encouraging everyone to make an Eco-Pledge, to pledge to try and do something this Lent to benefit God’s creation. On Ash Wednesday we will invite you to write down your pledge and add it to a barren tree, along with everyone else. Click here for more details

Here are some ideas to inspire you!

Food

  • Meal plan, make meals from scratch and freeze leftovers
  • Buy food that is LOAF (Locally grown, Organic, Animal-friendly, Fairtrade)
  • Begin a plant-based diet

Energy

  • Take a 4 min shower
  • turn down the heating by 1°c
  • Walk or cycle to work, school or church, instead of using the car

Waste

  • Reuse and recycle more
  • Avoid single use plastic
  • Try a new refillable from a zero waste shop
  • Recycle your soft plastics

Nature

  • Grow your own
  • Plant or invest in a tree
  • Compost

Shopping

  • Say no to buying anything that you do not need
  • Buy pre-loved or clothes swap for any new items that you need
  • Buy Fairtrade and/or ethically sourced goods
