On Sunday 25th June All Saints Church marked a historic occasion by saying farewell to David and Lorraine after 26 years in the parish. Over 150 people attended David’s final service as Rector of All Saints, where he preached and presided over communion. The service was followed by speeches and presentation of gifts for David and Lorraine, contributed to by many members of the church and community. David and Lorraine were also presented with some lovely cards made by our Junior Church and signed by members of the church community. Then followed cake and bubbly as many took the opportunity to express their thanks to David and Lorraine and to wish them well in their retirement.
In the afternoon the Mother’s Union organised a community gathering and another opportunity for people to say thank you and farewell to David and Lorraine. We saw many familiar faces as well as past colleagues of David’s and current ministers and folk from other churches in the area.
David and Lorraine are moving to Leamington Spa for their retirement and we wish them every blessing.
Services will continue as normal at All Saints as we move into this period of vacancy as Revd Hannah, Revd Becky and Revd Colin continue in the parish.
Thank you to Sue James for the photos!
