The Annual Church Meeting and Church Electoral Roll
The Annual Church Meeting deferred from April because of lockdown will now take place on Tuesday 13th October at 7.30pm. It will be held online using the Zoom video-conferencing application. Those without access to the internet or a computer please contact the Parish Office for alternative arrangements.
The Annual Meeting has two parts: (a) the Vestry meeting to elect our churchwardens for 2020/2021 which is open to all residents of the parish and members of the church electoral roll, and (b) the Parochial Church Meeting to elect our Parochial Church Council (PCC) and receive the formal reports of the PCC for the year to 31st December 2019. However, given the delay and the circumstances of this year, there will also be updates and discussion of the current year to date. To take part in the Parochial Church Meeting, you need to be on the church electoral roll.
Even though we checked the church electoral roll before the postponed April meeting, we must ensure the roll is up to date before this meeting. If you are already on the roll you need not re-apply but you may like to check your current details are correct. The list of current members is on display in the church porch or you can check your details are correct by contacting the Parish Office by email or phone (o1118 979 2797) If you are not currently on the roll and would like to be, and are over 16 years old and baptised and either resident in the parish or have habitually attended public worship here for six months (in total before and after lockdown), you are eligible to join.
The deadline for new applications or notifications of changes to your details is Sunday 27th September after which date the revised church electoral roll will be displayed for final scrutiny. Forms may be found at the back of the church, from the Parish Office or downloaded here E2-Application-for-Enrolment-Electoral-Roll-All-Saints-2020.pdf
Parishioners not on the roll but wishing to attend the Vestry meeting will need to request the Zoom link and password via the church website or the Parish Office; Electoral Roll members where your email address is known, will be sent a link (or a dial-in phone number) for both parts of the meeting, but please check and contact us if you do not receive one as we may not have your correct email address.
Canon David Hodgson, the Rector, writes: “I hope that as many parishioners as possible will take part so that we come together and re-connect as a church community.”
This will be the 101st Annual Meeting of the Parish.
