Church getting ready for Environment Sunday and visit of Archbishop from the Pacific

Preparations are intensifying at All Saints as the church gets ready to welcome the Most Reverend Dr Winston Halapua, recently retired Archbishop of Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia and a leading global voice on climate change on behalf of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Archbishop Winston will spend 24 hours in Wokingham Saturday 1st June to Sunday 2nd June visiting with his wife The Reverend Sue Halapua. The visit has been sponsored by USPG, a leading Anglican world mission agency which All Saints Church supports. The focus of the visit will be on the environment especially climate change, as the church along with many other churches across the Anglican Communion celebrates Environment Sunday, the nearest Sunday to United Nations World Environment Day., on 5th June.

USPG has taken a proactive role in encouraging Anglican churches worldwide to respond to climate change with its programme “Faith in a Changing Climate” which highlights the need for climate justice.

A stunning video based on the Lord’s Prayer was recently produced for USPG.
