Important notice about the church electoral roll for 2019 – a completely new electoral roll has to be made.
Every six years, each parish is required to prepare a new Church Electoral Roll and 2019 is one of those years. Everyone wishing to be included on the new electoral roll will need to make a fresh application so that their name is re-entered onto a new roll, as the old roll will cease to be valid and will be scrapped.
During February 2019, existing electoral roll members will be able to collect their new forms from the back of the church after all services. Completed forms should be posted into the box at the back of the church (during the time of services) or returned to the Parish Office. The deadline for completed forms will be Sunday 10th March 2019. Applications from those wishing to join the roll for the first time should also be made by this deadline. After this date, no applications will be accepted until after the APCM (Sunday 7th April). A form may be downloaded from this page – see link at foot of page.
Why be on the church electoral roll?
The Church Electoral Roll is a (voluntary) register of people who are Church of England members who live in the parish or who attend All Saints Church. Nobody is automatically entered into this register, but only people who are registered on the Church Electoral Roll are entitled to vote on matters arising at the APCM (Annual Church Meeting). Membership of a Church Electoral Roll is also used by some outside bodies, such as schools for admission policies, as evidence that you are a member of the Church of England.
To join the Electoral Roll you must complete an Electoral Roll Application Form and return it to the Electoral Roll Officer via the Parish Office( or the post box in church during the time of services before 10th March 2019)
You will need to declare that you are baptised and am aged 16 or over 16.
A member of the Church of England (or of a Church in communion with the Church of England) and are resident in the parish.
You are a member of the Church of England (or of a Church in communion with the Church of England) and, not being resident in the parish and have habitually attended public worship in the parish during the period of six months prior to enrolment.
You are a member in good standing of a Church (not in communion with the Church of England) which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and also declare yourself to be a member of the Church of England and have habitually attended public worship in the parish during the period of six months prior to enrolment.
